We believe community integration is critical to our students’ education. We have ongoing partnerships with local schools, including Hillside Elementary School in Livingston and Golda Och Academy in West Orange, that allows students from each school to visit and socialize with their peers. We also have regular trips to a host of sites in the area.
Certified therapy animals regularly visit with students.
Each class visits our new Center at least once per week to check out books, participate in group readings, and participate in fun interactive activities that enhance the classroom curriculum.
All students have the opportunity to participate in our theatrical productions. Pillar Elementary works in partnership with the Papermill Playhouse for a major production every year.
Students attend music class each week, singing and dancing (including wheelchair dancing) along with the instructor.
